Equipment & Safety
Shoes
For those who do not own curling shoes, a slider may be used along with your regular shoes. Note: for safety reasons, loose sliders or tape are not recommended. Sliders must be of the strap-on variety and it is strongly recommended that two pull-on grippers be used as well to improve traction.
Head Protection
Many curlers make the wise choise to wear head protection. And they are not just beginners. Even experienced curlers occassionaly fall. Options are available including hats or headbands with a foam block sewn into the back in case of a backward fall. But, of course, a curling helmet is the ultimate protection. Consider purchasing one.
